Basic Photography Class

A one-on-one basic photography class where you can learn all the basics you need to take great photographs!

COSTA RICA

As many or little hours as you need at the location chosen by you (home, work, library… you decide!). The course is for one to three person groups.

Plus, you will get a book that explains all the concepts studied in the course so you can go back when in need of a reminder! (the book was written by the instructor)

Contents of the course:

The most important thing to know is that I will customize the class to your needs and expectations. But if you want to start from zero and follow a regular curriculum, you can learn:
THE PHOTOGRAPHIC CAMERA

  • The Lens: Focal length; The diaphragm of the lens; Focus ring.
  • The Camera Body: The shutter; Electronic sensor; Color space: Adobe RGB and sRGB; JPEG vs RAW; Exposure meter.
  • Flash: Fill Flash; Full Flash.

BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY CONCEPTS

  • Relation between Aperture-Shutter speed-ISO
  • Exposure compensation
  • The Histogram and the correct exposure of the photograph
  • Depth of field
  • To freeze or record motion
  • White Balance
  • Shooting Modes

COMPOSITION OF AN IMAGE: BASIC CONCEPTS

  • Before taking a photo it is necessary to design
  • What to know to compose: The Format of an Image; Subject-background relationship; Rule of Thirds

Cost:

The course is charged by the hour, so the total cost will depend entirely to how much time you want to invest on it.
Cost of each hour: 13.000,00 colones or $25 per hour
Each session has to be of 3 hours minimum to insure enough time to cover concepts and practice.
Extra charges may apply to locations outside head of provinces inside the Central Valley of Costa Rica.
