Golden Gate Park Feature

A member of the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club shows a fly called a "Clouser" at the Golden Gate Park Casting Pools on Monday, Aug 29, 2011. The Casting Pools at Golden Gate Park were built in 1938. The Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club - founded in 1933 - takes care of the facilities that are open to the public and to the over 400 members of the club.

This was my first assignment at my photojournalism class: a feature on an attraction at Golden Gate Park.
As the different subjects were presented, I jump at the opportunity to photograph the Casting Pools… some of you might know very well why, but for those who don’t know, it is because I am dating a very passionate fly fisherman…
I think I did good. I might be missing more faces’ pictures, but I might a chance to do it again soon!
Here are the photos that made it after the scrutiny in class.

Jose, the only problem was there were no fish in the pool!! Still a very interesting club with a lot of rich fly fishing history

Fishing is not about the prey is, the action and what that imply.

Enjoyed reading through this, very good stuff, appreciate it. “What the United States does best is to understand itself. What it does worst is understand others.” by Carlos Fuentes.
