It's raining! Está lloviendo!

Esta es una nota personal…
Muchas cosas raro-interesantes han ocurrido este fin de semana.
Primero, Barack Obama recibió el Premio Nobel de la Paz el viernes, llenando al mundo de caras de sorpresa más que de admiración. Debo decir que comparto con el mundo la sorpresa, pero también sentí admiración… puede ser que el hombre no haya hecho mucho (bueno, bueno, está bien… casi nada…) pero al menos, ha hecho que todos aquellos que habíamos perdido la fe en el grande del norte, empecemos a recuperarla, y para mí, eso es mucho!
Luego, el sábado, la selección sub-20 de Costa Rica logró su pase a las semifinales del Campeonato Mundial de Fútbol Egipto 2009, algo que, según me contaron (por supuesto que yo no lo sabía) es sin precedente en la CONCACAF. Bravo por los chiquillos!
Más tarde ese día, la selección nacional mayor de Costa Rica empezó a recoger la m…. que han dejado en sus últimas presentaciones al ganarle, 4 a 0, a la selección de Trinidad y Tobago en el penúltimo partido de las eliminatorias para el Mundial Sudáfrica 2010. Ahora les falta ganarle a la selección de USA el miércoles en DC… sin comentarios.
El domingo, después de 5 años, yo regresé a la vida evaluadora universitaria, rindiendo (de manera satisfactoria, debo decir) dos exámenes. Ya estoy un paso más cerca de la meta, ahora es de seguir moviéndose.
Pero… lo más importante que ha sucedido pasó hoy. Es que, hoy amaneció lloviendo! El primer día de esta estación lluviosa (que guarde mi memoria) en que la mañana parece de temporal y las cobijas son demasiado acogedoras como para levantarse. Después de unas horas todo cambió y volvimos al viento y el sol, pero al menos, amaneció lloviendo.
¿Por qué le doy tanta importancia?, pues porque hemos tenido un invierno tan “veranero” que yo estoy muy asustada, el agua va a escasear en cualquier momento y eso me preocupa.
Así que yo,  más que felicitar a Obama por su Nobel, a la sub-20 por su logro histórico, a la “sele” por… nada?, y a mi misma por finalmente tomar las riendas de mi vida… QUIERO FELICITAR A LA LLUVIA por atreverse a caer, y quiero invitarla a que nos siga visitando!

This is a personal note….
Many weird-interesting things have happened this weekend.
First, Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize last Friday, filling the world with surprised faces more than admiration. I must say that I do share the surprise, but I also felt a lot of admiration… It is true that he has done little (ok, ok… barely anything…) but at least he has recovered the faith on the country of some many, like me, that has lost faith and respect on the big one from the north, and that should say a lot!
Then, on Saturday, the U-20 National Soccer Team of Costa Rica qualified for the semifinals of the World Cup Egypt 2009, something that, I have been told (because, of course, I would never know that) has never been done in the CONCACAF. Bravo for the little ones!
Latter that day, the National Soccer Team of Costa Rica started a necessary clean up of all the s…. that they have been showing on their last performances, winning 4 to 0 against Trinidad and Tobago on there second to last qualifying match for the South Africa 2010 World Cup. Now they have to win against USA next Wednesday at DC… no comments.
Sunday, after 5 years of absence, I took my first two test at the university, pretty successfully I must say. I am one step closer to the goal, now I must keep on moving.
But… the must important thing happened today. Today, it was raining first thing in the morning! The first morning of this rainy season (that I recall) that it is raining and therefore the bed is just too cozy to get up. After a few hours it changed again to wind and sun, but at least, it was raining first thing in the morning.
Why do I care so much?, well because we have had a very summer like rainy season and I am a little scared, there is going to be a water shortage any time soon, and that worries me.
So, today, more than congratulating Obama on his Nobel Prize, the U-20 for their historical success, the “sele” for… nothing?, and myself for finally getting my life on track… I WANT TO CONGRATULATE THE RAIN for daring to fall, and I want to invite “her” to keep on showing up!
